The Polish edition of the international hit So You Think You Can Dance has just entered its final stage, where the audience is to vote for their favorite competitors. The show is expected to break new engagement records, as it is supported by a dedicated second screen app created with the use of 4screens Studio, an online tool for building engagement mobile apps and web widgets.
The show is aired by TVN, a leading commercial television network in Central and Eastern Europe known for its high-quality entertainment and news programs, has been a great hit among Poland’s youth since 2007 when the first season was aired.
The app provides all the video content (episodes and behind the scene stories). The show producers can set up any question and send it in real time to the users’ devices. Thanks to this feature the viewers can judge the competitors performance, the jury’s jokes and comments, as well as their stylizations. The latter creates a great context for the in app promotion by Sizeer, a clothing store chain for young customers.
The broadcaster can engage the public with quizzes and promote the show better on social media. The platform is managed directly by TVN’s producers with a CMS. It allows them to ask the viewers real-time questions, and receive a real-time feedback. Using the same 4screens Studio the broadcaster was also able to create a similar app for Kuba Wojewódzki late night talk show, where the viewers can express their opinion on the guests, and choose their favorite.
The 4screens platform has recently obtained first round funding from Internet Ventures FIZ, a part of MCI Management S.A. (MCI), the leading private equity group in Central and Eastern Europe. The fund has bought a minority stake in NoPattern, the developer of 4screens. The sides do not reveal the details of the transaction, but it is said that Internet Ventures invested around 1 mln USD. The funding is to be spent on the development of the product and global B2B sales.
